Hey there again! Think I’d only stop with one post, did you? I’ve been meaning to make a post about this for a while, but I thought now was as good a time as any.
If any of you follow me on Instagram or have seen my recent posts/stories on there (and my last one here), I went away to the South of France for the weekend, specifically the South-West. It was great, I had an amazing time with one of my closest and best friends and it was filled with lots of catching up, shopping, and wine.
Unfortunately, there was also a little bit of stress involved in this trip, and a bit more than the customary amount – my flight was cancelled. Now, this never happened to me before, in all my years of traveling. So I was a little frazzled, to say the least.
Thankfully, I had some money that I could use to sort out other flight arrangements, but it added some more worries on me and my ability to fully enjoy the trip after that.
I ended up wasting a whole day traveling as I could only find connecting flights instead of a direct one back to Malta. On the bright side, I figured out that these types of flights aren’t my thing, I’m not a fan of Starbucks’ cold brew and 8 hours waiting-time on little sleep is quite an experience. It wasn’t all that bad, to be honest. Interesting, to say at least.
So out of this experience, here are my pros and cons that I have taken with me:
Pros: Traveling is a experience that not many of us get to enjoy often, and with the right people, makes the little worries and stresses, especially the bigger ones, all that easier to deal with.
Also, France is a beautiful country with amazingly friendly people and should be enjoyed more often!
Cons: Flight cancellations and delays can be a nuisance, to say the least, so make sure everything is in order, and always have some rainy day money on hand just in case!
So wherever and whenever you’re traveling, just remember to live in the moments you’re there and try not to let the little and big things get you down
