UM Futsal joins BEV Organisation Area

University of Malta Futsal has officially joined as members of the ‘A Bird’s Eye View’s Organisation Area’!

The University of Malta Students Futsal Team was founded in 2014, as a joint initiative of the Malta University Sports Club (MUSC), the University Student Council (KSU), and MFA member club Mdina Knights Football Club. In October 2016, the University of Malta Students’ Futsal Team became completely autonomous after achieving official recognition from the University of Malta Senate.

Since becoming autonomous, UM Futsal has achieved staggering results both on and off the pitch during these past three seasons. During the 2016/2017 season the Team reached Elite status (thus placing within the top 5 Maltese Futsal Clubs) and during the 2017/2018 season reaching the semi-final of the First Division and being crowned Knockout Cup Champions. These results saw a number of Maltese players being nominated for the prestigious MFPA and MFA Awards and being repeatedly called up with the National Team. During the 2019/2020 season, the club managed to arrive to the semi-finals of both the league and the knockout before all compettions were cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This was the highest ranking classification that the Club ever achieved, writing another chapter in its history books.

Off the pitch, the UM Futsal Team is the second most followed futsal team on social media and boasting of a huge presence at the University of Malta, placing in the top 10 Organisations in the KSU RAR Report as well as very positive attendances to all events, both on and off campus. The organisation also managed to organise high-quality events such as the yearly technology summits which boasts of a unique experience offered to students.

We welcome UM Futsal into this project and look forward to working together!
